Before restoration project started, the inn, located on the historical Silk Road, used to be in a seriously damaged condition, not being able to bear even its own weight including the gallery under vertical loads. A detailed damage survey was performed and strengthening design was developed considering the new function within the scope of restoration. OTS developed the design using steel and stone struts, tensioners and fiber polymers as strengthening methods.
