Required strengthening methods were identified upon obtaining results of the on-site inspection. The load bearing system strengthened by adding reinforced concrete shear walls. Because of discontinuity of columns reinforced concrete coating was applied. CFRP (Carbon fiber polymer) was used to increase the shear capacity of beams. Since the building consisted of two blocks, two separate strengthening designs were developed.
