In order to investigate the causes of cracks in one of the building blocks, a number of on-site and laboratory surveys and tests were performed, besides the crack reading system data that had been placed in the building was monitored for a long time. Within the scope of the studies, moisture and temperature were continuously measured taking into account the climate conditions of the building location; the width of cracks was followed on the measurement points according to this data, concrete samples were tested for drying shrinkage in laboratory conditions, all received data was analysed and the results of the analysis was verified for conformity with the damage on site. A comprehensive report prepared by OTS company among other things contained determination of the current safety level of the building and recommendations on whether strengthening of the building was necessary or not.
